Mop

Martha (Marty) Livingston of Irvington, NY died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 25, 2021.  She was 81 years old.

Born Martha Reilly to her parents Barney and Mary Reilly on January 30, 1940, she is survived by her devoted husband and high school sweetheart Richard (Dick) Livingston, to whom she was married for 62 wonderful years.  She is also survived by her three children Barna (Mike) Arduino, Helen (Ed) Rapp, and Rick (Jennifer) Livingston, and her sister Mary (George) Roca; she is predeceased by her sister Helen Dalzell.

Marty’s seven grandchildren, to whom she is lovingly known as “Mop”, are Beth (Rich) Cable; Brian (Lauren) Arduino; Kevin (Alex) Arduino; Drew (Alex) Rapp; Holly (Nils) Rapp; Jane Rapp; and Zachary (Michaela) Livingston.  Mop was also a great grandmother to – Emily Olsen, Carson Arduino, Ella Arduino, and Baby Boy Arduino (April 2022)

A life-long resident of Irvington, Marty served the community she loved as an active riding member of the Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corp (IVAC) for over 44 years.  She will be deeply missed by her entire extended family and wide circle of friends.

Visitation will be at Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry on Thursday, October 28th from 3pm – 7pm. A funeral mass with be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, October 29th at Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington. Private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, Martha would prefer donations be made to IVAC, SPCA Westchester, or The Dwelling Place of NY.
